my secret love/hate

I believe Steven Seagal is possibly, one of the worst "actors" to ever enter into the film industry. I would rather watch Al Gore (shutter) trying to be funny on Leno than a Steven Seagal movie. His attempts at manliness and brutality are staggering at best. His womanly body just does not exude the persona that he so desperately wants to project. I have happened upon movies of his on occasion that were playing on TBS or SPIKE or something like that, and I always watch for a few minutes in horror wondering what happened to him in his childhood. That being said, he and I have something in common. Steven Seagal and I are connected, on the same wave length shall we say. We are both into Asian art and/or decal. I was decorating my house today and realized that I have acquired quite a bit of Asian influenced decoration. Now is this bad?
I am overcome with annoyance when I see a person from, oh, I don't know, Malibu, Cali talking and acting all inner-city.

It seems so blatantly phony and false....

But is that who I am???

We lived in Hawaii for almost 4 years and I acquired many things there (Honolulu having a large Asian population).

I just like the look of it. I think it is beautiful and interesting. Here are some photos of my "decorating".
Have I gone overboard? Or am I lacking a sense of cultural identity??

Yikes! Too much?
Or should I just change my middle name to Seagal...

Past the Point of no Return

I like this song and it pertains to my post directly below this one...I love the phrase "past the point of no return". It comforts me when I need to justify events that transpire in my day to day dealings.

my chalking

This is what happens when you have to run inside the house and help your son use the potty and leave your 4 year old outside in the (fenced) backyard with your baby for 3 (o.k. maybe 4) minutes...TOPS!

But I think Sadie enjoyed her "chalking"....

Here she is right before her bath....

Do you know the song from Phantom of the opera??
"Past the point of no return - no backward glances: our games of make believe are at an end . . . Past all thought of "if" or "when" - no use resisting: abandon thought, and let the dream descend"
I felt like once Audrey got into this activity of mixing chalk with water and painting herself....there was no turning back.
It washes off....so I think!

my superman

Let the games begin....

Thus far in Reese's short 2 1/2 years he has struggled many times to maintain a pleasant, upbeat demeanor....

That being said, he is the cutest little guy. I love his pudgy little body. We are going to attempt to potty train, and actually stick to it. He is verbally coherent for a 2 or even 3 year old...so the communication lines are there. It is just a matter of breaking the potty anytime, anywhere mentality. I have given the potty training a go a few times w/not much success.

But I am committed this time...

Any tips???

Wish me luck!

p.s.

We played a lot of Settlers of Catan on our trip. It was quite fun, however my reign has ended. I am no longer undefeated....

The Cooks bested me....I am all the more determined to control all of Catan!

my boyer trip

We had a super fun trip! We stayed at the nicest lodge I have ever been in. It was really fun to see all the Boyer's and hang out. They are some of the nicest people. I am glad they are my family.

We went to Park City and that was fun. We did the slide and coaster, the coaster was really fun!

Dad laid out on the lawn to cool off...I think he slept out there!

The last day of the reunion was fun, I was upset tho...I had had enough of the trip. We were leaving that night to drive all night, so I just wanted to lay around and hang out. But we ended up going to the extended Boyer reunion.

The boating activities were probably my favorite b/c Audrey and Reese just had a blast on the banana boat and the regular boat. It was really pretty there!

Jon and Amy and Riley were pretty awesome with my kids and so helpful, but it is so hard to be a single parent. (michael didn't go).

This is so short and sweet. I have a lot more stories but my time is short. I also took about 200 pictures, so I must weed thru those.
